Presentation:
Box containing one 10 ml amber glass dropper bottle of oral drops, solution.
Composition:
One millilitre of oral drops, solution contains cholecalciferol 0.45 mg.
One millilitre of oral drops, solution contains 36 drops.
Indications:
Vitamin D3 Biofarm is involved in calcium and phosphorus metabolism, increases blood calcium levels, and reduces the excretion of these substances in the feces. It stimulates the deposition of mineral salts in bones.
Vitamin D3 Biofarm is indicated for:
- infants, during the first 2 years of life, for the prevention of rickets;
- treatment of osteomalacia caused by vitamin D deficiency;
- maintenance treatment of osteoporosis;
- prophylactic treatment of symptoms caused by impaired intestinal absorption of vitamin D (e.g. chronic intestinal diseases, biliary cirrhosis, gastrointestinal resection, etc.);
-hypoparathyroidism.
Dosage:
Prevention of rickets in infants (first year of life): 1 drop of Vitamin D3 Biofarm daily (500 IU vitamin D3); in premature infants: 2 drops daily (1000 IU vitamin D3). Administration should begin in the second week of life and continue until the age of one year. During the second year of life, continued administration is recommended, especially during the winter months.
Treatment of osteomalacia caused by vitamin D deficiency: 5 drops (2500 IU vitamin D3) of Vitamin D3 Biofarm, three times daily. Treatment should be continued for 1 year.
Tratamentul de susţinere al osteoporozei: zilnic 2-6 picături VITAMINA D3 BIOFARM (1000-3000 UI vitamină D3).
Treatment of hypoparathyroidism: The recommended dose ranges between 10,000 and 20,000 IU vitamin D3 per day. Depending on serum calcium levels, the daily dose will be 20–40 drops of Vitamin D3 Biofarm (10,000–20,000 IU vitamin D3). If higher doses are required, other products with higher concentrations are recommended. Serum and urinary calcium levels should be measured initially every 4–6 weeks, then every 3–6 months, with dose adjustments made accordingly.
