Composition:
Retinol palmitate 50000 IU
Indications:
Prevention and treatment of vitamin A deficiencies, adjuvant in treatment of anaemia, chronic diarrhea syndromes, respiratory tract infections, xerophtalmia.
Dosage:
Children between 8-15 years: the recommended daily dose in hypovitaminosis is 1 soft capsule of Vitamin A Forte (50000 IU Vitamin A); the treatment is repeated every 15 days, until normal liver reserves are restored. In order to avoid chronic intoxication, the treatment should not be inadequately extended. In severe hypovitaminosis in children injectable preparations are recommended.
Adults and adolescents: the recommended dose is 1 soft capsule twice a day (100000 IU Vitamin A), for 13 days, then 1 soft capsule (50000 IU Vitamin A) a day, for 15 days; the treatment is repeated every 15 days, until normal liver reserves are restored. In order to avoid chronic intoxication, the treatment should not be extended for more than 2 months. Malabsorption syndrome: 1 soft capsule (50000 IU Vitamin A)/ day. Vitamin A alimentary deficiency associated with malabsorption: 4 capsules (200000 IU Vitamin A) every 3-5 months.
