1921
Bases for the current company were set up through the merger of several drug manufacturers (producing solutions, tablets, ampoules etc.),
which used medicinal plants, various animal glands, organs and animal by-products as raw materials.
1956
The new unit established at 1st Tineretului Street produces for the first time in Romania plant extracts, tinctures, pure substances and veterinary medicines;
in 1957, this unit becomes the Galenica Medicine Factory.
2004
All production lines were
audited and certified in compliance with the requirements of the Good
Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Guideline,
a quality standard
which provides regulations for medicine manufacturing in Europe.
2005
Through the Resolution
no. 69 of 10.25.2005, the Bucharest Stock Exchange Board approved quotation of
S.C. BIOFARM S.A. stock at the Bucharest Stock Exchange within the sector:
stocks issued by Romanian legal entities – Category I.
2007
Biofarm was reaudited and
recertified as per Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Guideline.
2008
Biofarm obtained the
certification of quality management system in compliance with the standard EN
ISO 9001.
2010
The company was
reaudited and recertified as per Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) Guideline.
2011
Quality management system
was re-certified in compliance with EN ISO 9001
